This book is an entertaining read but has serious shortcomings as a guide. Some places he covers very well, some partially, some very briefly in passing (Bellinzona, for example, which gets Michelin's top rating) and others he ignores (for example, St-Ursanne, Locarno, La Chaux-de Fonds/Le Corbusier, Nyon and surrounding area, St-Gallen and /5(). Discover the rich cultural, geographical and linguistic diversity of Switzerland with the updated Michelin Green Guide snow-covered Alpine panoramas and spring-green mountain vistas. Sample fine chocolates, shop for a world-class watch, ski at St in a folk festival, or drive along the Bernina Pass for its stunning views.. Through its star-rating system, driving 5/5(2). This book helped so much as we planned our trip to Switzerland. The author's suggestions for priorities in Switzerland were spot on for the various trip lengths. I was shocked though that the book never mentioned the Abby at St Gallen and the gorgeous library there. Thank goodness I discovered it in another guide book!/5(). The book gives a little general information but you would need another book to cover transportation and accommodations. I structure my trips around hiking so this book is central to planning each days activity. Depends on what you plan to do in Switzerland, for me I head up into the mountains.
